What is Barijeh?
Barijeh or Qsani is a perennial herbaceous plant that reaches a height of 2 meters.
This plant has many species so that more than 3,000 species have been identified so far.
This plant is native of Iran, which grows at an altitude of 1500 to 3000 meters above sea level.
The color of the plant is greenish-gray, which grows after five years of flowering stem.
Gum is harvested annually in June and July
On average, between 50 and 150 grams are harvested from each Barijeh plant. Barijeh gum is used in various industries such as pharmaceutical, perfumery, food, and military industries.
Gum production capacity in Barijeh is very limited and it is considered as one of the rarest medicinal plants.
